The apostles answer the council; Gamaliel counsels restraint
Before the council the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.” Gamaliel urged restraint; after the apostles were flogged and released, they continued daily to teach and proclaim Jesus as the Christ (Acts 5:27-42).
