Seated at God's right hand
At Pentecost Peter and, later, Hebrews quote Psalm 110's invitation to sit at God's right hand while speaking about the risen and exalted Jesus.
God has raised this Jesus to life, to which we are all witnesses. Exalted, then, to the right hand of God, He has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. For David did not ascend into heaven, but he himself says: ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”’
Yet to which of the angels did God ever say: “Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet”?
Day after day every priest stands to minister and to offer again and again the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when this Priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God. Since that time, He waits for His enemies to be made a footstool for His feet,
Psalm 110:1 invites David's Lord to sit at the LORD's right hand until His enemies become His footstool; Acts 2:32-35 quotes the verse after proclaiming Jesus raised and exalted, while Hebrews 1:13 and 10:12-13 repeat its right-hand and footstool language.
