Eleazar dies in the battle of Beth-zechariah

A Seleucid army returned with war elephants and met Judas near Beth-zechariah. Eleazar, believing one elephant carried the king, struck beneath it and died when it fell, while the Jewish army withdrew toward Jerusalem.
