The Davidic covenant

Through Nathan the LORD promised David a house, a kingdom, and a throne established forever (2 Samuel 7:12-16), the covenant behind the royal line traced to Christ (Matthew 1:1). Scripture places it after the ark's arrival, without a year.

πŸ“– 2 Sam 7:1–3

1After the king had settled into his palace and the LORD had given him rest from all his enemies around him, 2he said to Nathan the prophet, β€œHere I am, living in a house of cedar, while the ark of God remains in a tent.” 3And Nathan replied to the king, β€œGo and do all that is in your heart, for the LORD is with you.”
