Esther calls a fast and approaches the king
Mordecai urged Esther not to imagine the palace would spare her and asked whether she had come to royalty for such a time as this. After three days of fasting, Esther entered the inner court uninvited, received the golden scepter, and invited the king and Haman to her banquets (Esther 4:1-5:8).
