Ezekiel rejects the proverb of sour grapes
God rejected the proverb that blamed children for their fathers' sour grapes. Each person would answer for his own sin, and the wicked who turned from sin would live; therefore Israel was called to repent and receive a new heart and spirit (Ezekiel 18:1-32).

1Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2“What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land of Israel: ‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the teeth of the children are set on edge’? 3As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, you will no longer quote this proverb in Israel.
