Ezekiel sees idolatry in the temple and the glory depart

In a vision Ezekiel was carried to Jerusalem and shown hidden idolatry practiced in the temple. Judgment began at the sanctuary, and the glory of the LORD moved from the threshold to the east gate and then left the city (Ezekiel 8:1-18; 10:18-19; 11:22-25).

1In the sixth year, on the fifth day of the sixth month, I was sitting in my house, and the elders of Judah were sitting before me; and there the hand of the Lord GOD fell upon me.
