AD 33 Β· Life of Christ
Gethsemane; the arrest
In the garden he prayed, not as I will, but as you will, sweating as it were great drops of blood, and was betrayed with a kiss and seized (Matthew 26:39; Luke 22:44-48). The night of the passion.
π Matthew 26:36β38
36At that time Jesus went with His disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and He told them, βSit here while I go over there and pray.β 37He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee and began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. 38Then He said to them, βMy soul is consumed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with Me.β
