The Gibeonites secure a treaty with Israel

The Gibeonites disguised themselves as travelers from a distant land, and Israel made a covenant without seeking counsel from the LORD. When the deception was discovered, Joshua honored the oath but assigned them service for the sanctuary (Joshua 9:1-27).
