Herod takes Jerusalem
Three years after Rome named him king, Herod took Jerusalem itself from Antigonus by siege and general assault. It is in the days of this Herod, king of Judea, that the Gospel account opens (Luke 1:5).
📖 Luke 1:5
5In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah, and whose wife Elizabeth was a daughter of Aaron.
