The Book of the Law found; Huldah consulted

During temple repairs Hilkiah found the Book of the Law. Josiah tore his clothes when it was read and sent to Huldah, who confirmed coming judgment but promised that the humble king would not see it; Josiah then renewed the covenant before the people (2 Kings 22:8-20; 23:1-3).

1Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem thirty-one years. His mother’s name was Jedidah daughter of Adaiah; she was from Bozkath.
