Ish-bosheth rules Israel as conflict begins with David's house
Abner made Saul's son Ish-bosheth king over Israel while Judah followed David. At Gibeon the servants of Ish-bosheth and David fought, Asahel pursued Abner and was killed, and the struggle between the two houses began (2 Samuel 2:8-32).
