Mordecai uncovers a plot against the king
Mordecai learned that Bigthana and Teresh planned to assassinate the king. Esther reported the warning in Mordecai's name, the charge was confirmed, and the event was written in the royal chronicles, though Mordecai was not immediately rewarded (Esther 2:19-23).

📖 Esther 2:19–21
19When the virgins were assembled a second time, Mordecai was sitting at the king’s gate. 20Esther still had not revealed her lineage or her people, just as Mordecai had instructed. She obeyed Mordecai’s command, as she had done under his care. 21In those days, while Mordecai was sitting at the king’s gate, Bigthan and Teresh, two of the king’s eunuchs who guarded the entrance, grew angry and conspired to assassinate King Xerxes.
