Peter's mother-in-law and many others healed

Jesus took Peter's fevered mother-in-law by the hand and raised her up. That evening the whole town gathered, and He healed many who were sick and cast out demons (Mark 1:29-34).

14When Jesus arrived at Peter’s house, He saw Peter’s mother-in-law sick in bed with a fever. 15So He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she got up and began to serve Him. 16When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to Jesus, and He drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.

Matthew says that Jesus' healing of the sick fulfilled Isaiah's words about the Servant who took on infirmities and carried sorrows.

Surely He took on our infirmities and carried our sorrows; yet we considered Him stricken by God, struck down and afflicted.

Isaiah 53:4 says that the Servant took on infirmities and carried sorrows; after Jesus healed Peter's mother-in-law and many others, Matthew 8:17 quotes Isaiah and says that this was to fulfill what the prophet had spoken.
