Jerusalem under the Ptolemies

After Alexander's empire split, Ptolemy son of Lagus entered Jerusalem on a Sabbath and carried many Jews into Egypt; for the next century Judea lay under Egypt's Greek kings, the kings of the South of Daniel's vision (Daniel 11:5).

📖 Daniel 11:5

5The king of the South will grow strong, but one of his commanders will grow even stronger and will rule his own kingdom with great authority.
