Judah's remnant rejects God's word and flees to Egypt

The remnant asked Jeremiah to seek the LORD and promised to obey. God told them to remain in Judah, but they accused Jeremiah of lying and carried the people, including the prophet, into Egypt as far as Tahpanhes (Jeremiah 42:1-43:7).
