Ruth and Boaz in Bethlehem
In the days when the judges ruled, Ruth the Moabitess clung to Naomi, gleaned in the field of Boaz, and became the great-grandmother of David (Ruth 1:1, 4:17-22). Scripture gives the era but no year.

1In the days when the judges ruled, there was a famine in the land. And a certain man from Bethlehem in Judah, with his wife and two sons, went to reside in the land of Moab.
