Samson strikes the Philistines with fire and a donkey's jawbone
After his wife was given to another man, Samson burned Philistine grain with torches tied between foxes. Later, when Judah handed him over, the Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon him and he struck a thousand men with a donkey's jawbone (Judges 15:1-20).

1Later on, at the time of the wheat harvest, Samson took a young goat and went to visit his wife. βI want to go to my wife in her room,β he said. But her father would not let him enter. 2βI was sure that you thoroughly hated her,β said her father, βso I gave her to one of the men who accompanied you. Is not her younger sister more beautiful than she? Please take her instead.β 3Samson said to them, βThis time I will be blameless in doing harm to the Philistines.β
