Saul anointed first king of Israel

While Saul searched for his father's donkeys, the LORD directed him to Samuel. Samuel privately anointed Saul as ruler, foretold confirming signs, and told him that the Spirit of the LORD would come powerfully upon him (1 Samuel 9:1-10:16), in 1095 BC.
