Jesus is rejected again at Nazareth
Teaching in His hometown synagogue, Jesus astonished the people, but they took offense because they knew His family. He said that a prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and household, and He marveled at their unbelief (Matthew 13:53-58; Mark 6:1-6).

53When Jesus had finished these parables, He withdrew from that place. 54Coming to His hometown, He taught the people in their synagogue, and they were astonished. “Where did this man get such wisdom and miraculous powers?” they asked. 55“Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t His mother’s name Mary, and aren’t His brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?
