Solomon's throne is firmly established

Adonijah's request for Abishag exposed a renewed claim to the throne, and Solomon ordered his execution. Abiathar was removed, Joab was killed at the altar, Benaiah and Zadok were appointed, and Shimei's disobedience brought judgment (1 Kings 2:13-46).
