Judah frees Hebrew slaves and then enslaves them again

Zedekiah and the people covenanted to free their Hebrew slaves, and at first they obeyed. They later took the freed men and women back into bondage, so Jeremiah announced that Babylon would return against Jerusalem (Jeremiah 34:8-22).
